Always I wanted someone to cook peach cookies for me...
I was affraid to make them but I find here a very good help for the dough.

Everyone must be ready for winter

One day I went to Value Village. I needed knitting needles for socks, but I found many other treasures....and so, the madness begun...the madness for the tiny sweaters.
All techniques come (from ancient times... :D ...), like an avalanche in my head.
These are for Tatiana.

For her, the winter can come.

A little sock

I have some big, beautiful socks for Cristmas. But I wanted a few, to decorate the tree and put at least a candy cane inside.
My grandmother (she's 90 !) - a long time ago, she use to make little paper baskets for candies (it was allways our first sneaky job to steal them all!!)...
So, yesterday morning (5:30 am!) I've made a pattern for these:
I had so much fun!

Patchwork Hive

Hello my friends,
I love very much this mini honey pot!
Everyday is filled with honey, I use it alot.
And because of this, I can't have it next to me, in my studio
.... So, I decided to make one of scraps.
Can't wait to finish it and fill it with ... buttons.

Wrinkling fabrics - Tutorial

Late, I saw a lot of products, wonderful jobs, very well done, and I thought that could be helpful if I would share an easy method with all my friends. But, maybe some of you already know this technique.
I found much easier to obtain a wrinkled ribbon, lace or piece of fabric if I used the elastic thread on a bobbin.
So for this, instead to fill the bobbin with regular thread, I fill it with elastic.
I hand wind the bobbin without stretching the elastic thread, until I had the bobbin almost full.
The top of the sewing machine was threaded with a regular sewing thread.
I put the bobbin in the sewing machine and thread the bobbin as I would do with a regular sewing thread.
I did all the next maneuvers gently:
-bring the elastic thread up through the sewing machine throat plate,
   - leave a long tail of thread (and you don’t have to use the automatic thread cutting if your sewing machine has one).
I found 3.0 or 4.0 a very good stitch length so set your machine on this.

I have tried a 2.0 but no results on cotton fabric.
You can gently pull the elastic thread and get the ribbon more wrinkled.
I also played a little with the stitch linearity and look at this!!!

The thicker the fabric, the longer stitch you must set.
Anyway, use scraps to set the machine and the amount of the bunch.
Again, hope this will help you.

The beautiful TATIANA...

...with her trapeze, she arrived at our home not a long time ago.
In time I have sewn few clothes for her, but I never was very decided to make something serious.
I hope to be able and also have the time to obtain what we have in mind, all the outfits we designed for her.
This is my daughter first skirt for her.
She draw the idea and I gave her the instructions to make the skirt.
In fact she just tried to use the sewing machine in a good way....and what can I say, the result is very good.

A grey pleated skirt and a withe shirt designed by my daughter.
She really gave me some work. I enjoyed, anyway.

Happy sewing.

90 coasters

I really love to look, to feel a fabric and find the best way to use it.
In this manner, having 1 yard from this

I started to do a lot of coasters. You can find some pictures here .
And late find no time to finish them.

But after my "teacups month" ended, this is what I sew since morning:
stitch in a ditch for 72 coasters and binding applied for 15.
I still hope to finish them  soon.

Happy sewing.

A different teacup

A long time ago I saw many pictures on Patchwork Pottery's Albums on Flickr .
I was so amazed and at that moment thinking that I never can do something the same. I am... trying "my hand" to reach the impossible.
I have to rename this August for me, the Month of the Teacups.
Take a look...The blue ones on the back are like Laurraine's but the other ones are my own design inspired by the 3d technique!

Happy sewing.
